The right upper lobe bronchus

The right upper lobe bronchus takes off 2 cm distal to the carina on the lateral aspect of the right main stem bronchus at a 90° angle.

It is short (10 to 15 mm) and runs obliquely upward and outward.

It quickly divides into the apical (B1), posterior (B2) and anterior (B3) segmental bronchi.
