Sub-glottic pseudomembranes

This type of tracheal stenosis is rare and usually appears after prolonged intubation, often after open heart surgery.

Tight sub-glottic stenosis can occur as a result.

Simple resection with the beveled tip of the rigid bronchoscope offers immediate results.

Treatment with anti-inflammatory aerosols usually delays progression.
